I loved creating my first "Fireflies" painting in alcohol inks and wanted to try a version in wax to see which medium I like best. I think the waxy shine on this painting makes it extra moody, and the thin translucent layers of wax really give this a lot of depth.
- Encaustic painting created with beeswax + resin pigmented with oil paints.
- Painted on birchwood cradle panel: 24 x 18 x 1 inches

and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”
