Beautifully crafted ceramic tiles are extremely durable against UV light and are waterproof, making them a great way to add a nature accent addition to your kitchen backsplash, tile shower floor, or your patio decor. You can frame them for washable wall art! Or if you are the DIY type, glue on some felt or cork backing for a table trivet for a thoughtful tablescape. How Are These Tiles made?
I create them by collecting Goldenrod from my mother's garden. Then I pressed the flowers between parchment paper and heavy books for several weeks. Next I scanned in the best pressings to create a digital image of the botanicals on my computer. Then I print the floral images out on ceramic decal, meaning the ink is actually ceramic glaze. The decal gets applied to the tiles and then in goes into the kiln and heated to 2100 degrees, creating the permanent design in the tile glaze.
