Working with the unpredictable nature of alcohol inks, I create controlled structure while simultaneously "going with the flow" and working around and with the unpredictable shapes and blends of the inks. They are contained only by my brush stroke and controlled amounts of rubbing alcohol as a solvent. I love the technical challenge required to make it all work together to create something graceful and beautiful.

A full moon in December, the last one my mother was alive for. I didn't know she would be pass away before the next full moon, but a big part of me knew that when I painted this piece, it would be the last painting I made for her. I was able to give her the original painting on Christmas, and I remember her smile when she saw it, and she managed to say out loud, with a smile, "That's really beautiful!" in a voice much stronger that I could have hoped for. I'm so grateful for the beauty of her, the life she lived, and the lives she's touched with her enthusiastic and joyful love. Just as the moon reflects the sun's life-giving light, I hope this painting reflects the purity of a mother's life-giving love for her child.

A delicate feather to brighten your day. This painting has a lot of delicate details layered in vivid, yet soothing colors. The original is created entirely with alcohol inks on yupo paper.

Working with the unpredictable nature of alcohol inks, I create controlled structure while simultaneously "going with the flow" and working around and with the unpredictable shapes and blends of the inks. They are contained only by my brush stroke and controlled amounts of rubbing alcohol as a solvent. I love the technical challenge required to make it all work together to create something graceful and beautiful.
