A full moon in December, the last one my mother was alive for. I didn't know she would be pass away before the next full moon, but a big part of me knew that when I painted this piece, it would be the last painting I made for her. I was able to give her the original painting on Christmas, and I remember her smile when she saw it, and she managed to say out loud, with a smile, "That's really beautiful!" in a voice much stronger that I could have hoped for. I'm so grateful for the beauty of her, the life she lived, and the lives she's touched with her enthusiastic and joyful love. Just as the moon reflects the sun's life-giving light, I hope this painting reflects the purity of a mother's life-giving love for her child.
My original painting was created with watercolors and alcohol inks. These cards are digital prints on heavyweight matte card stock.
